MySpace Hottie of the day - Kelly Carrington

Today, let's meet Kelly Carrington, a glamour model and student from Stuart, Florida. Born Kelly Hemberger, she attended Martin County High School, where she was a member of the volleyball and lacrosse teams, and she was active in tennis and golf. After graduating in 2005, she went on to attend the University of Florida. However, she would eventually put her studies on hold after getting into modeling, at first doing some regional bikini and glamour gigs, but eventually successfully auditioning for and posing for Playboy magazine. They were so imoressed by her that they named her their Playmate of the Month for October, 2008. She currently lives in the Bunny House in Los Angeles, right across the street from the Playboy Mansion, and she’s looking to explore an internship in public relations for the magazine.

However, her photo spread did not come without some controversy. Kelly, a public relations junior at the University of Florida, which is in the Southeast Conference, made the cover of Playboy magazine despite the fact that this issue was branded -- in huge, red font -- "Girls of the Big 10." She told The Gainesville Sun, "There weren't any girls from the Big Ten who were hot enough to be on the cover, so they had to pull someone from the (Southeastern Conference),"

After this comment went public, she backtracked a little. "That conversation was not recorded and that comment was definitely taken out of context," Kelly said. "I would never insult girls that are posing nude in a magazine next to me." She laughed at the idea that she became the cover girl because she looks better than the Big Ten's women. "I got the cover because Playboy thought I would be a good cover girl," she said. She never expected her joking comment to be taken as a straight insult of Big Ten women. "That was pretty brutal, That blew up in the media, kind of. I think all the girls look beautiful."

So as for the ladies of the Big Ten ladies, relax. Kelly has no problems with you. That doesn't apply to college sports, however. She especially loves to rub in the fact that her University of Florida Gators defeated the Big Ten's Ohio State Buckeyes to win national championships in both football and basketball in 2007.
